Government Grants
On December 1, 2009, Grand Erie Business Centre was given the privilege to help the government of Canada distribute Stimulus funds in Haldimand County and West Lincoln. Over $860,000 of applications was received for only $450,000 in funds to distribute. The final selection was made by our Board of Directors for these funds on Friday January 15, 2010. All funds must be utilized by March 31, 2010; those who were selected to receive grants have their work cut out for them to get their projects completed by that time.
For those who did not receive a grant we understand how you feel. Grand Erie Business Centre applied for some of these funds and were also turned down. Our application had to be sent to the government directly because of the conflict in Grand Erie Business Centre being the delivery agent of the funds. This is the only time Grand Erie Business Centre has ever had the opportunity to distribute grants. We likely will never have the opportunity again.
From now on, we are going to be a resource for assisting you in your research for possible grant opportunities. We will also assist you in applying for them should you require the help.
